WordPress has become one of the most popular Content Management System available. With a multitude of readily available plugins and themes the platform has move passed its roots as a blogger’s platform. This article will show you how to install and activate WordPress cPAddons Site Software on your WHM/cPanel server enabling WordPress Manager on all of your cPanel accounts.
Installing the WordPress cPAddon
In previous versions of WHM/cPanel users had to manually download the software, check for compatibility , upload and install it to your server. WHM/cPanel has simplified the installation process with a WordPress cPAddon installation wizard that automatically installs the software.
Note: When you install the WordPress cPAddon, the cPAddon also installs the WordPress Manager cPanel plugin. This plugin includes the WordPress Manager interface (cPanel >> Home >> Applications >> WordPress Manager). The WordPress Manager interface allows you to manage the WordPress installations on your cPanel account.
Step 1. - Navigate to the cPAddon screen
Depending on your version getting to the cPAddon Installation screen varies. In older version (v74.x.x) of WHM/cPanel the cPanel Icon is available form the home screen simply click it to get ot the cPanel screen.
For newer versions v76.x.x the streamlined homepage does not have the cPanel icon and you will have to navigate through the search menu. Simply type cPanel in the search menu in the upper left hand corner of the home screen and click on the cPanel icon that the search returns.
Step 2. Identify and install the WordPress cPAddon plugin
From here the steps are identical regardless of what version of of WHM cPanel you are running. Click on the Install cPAddons Site software form the cPanel page.
Once inside of the Install cPAddons Site Select the checkbox next to the WordPress cPAddon and click the blue Update cPAddon Config button.
Once the configuration is completed, all cPanel accounts will have WordPress Manager cPanel plugin installed. You can find the WordPress Manager plugin by navigating to the home screen of the individual cPanel accounts on your server and scrolling to the bottom of the home page. It appears in the Application section.
